The Rushmere
is certainly a restaurant and bar with a difference. Originally a tea
rooms, this typical early 1930's building was taken over
in 1994 and completely refurbished. The result is a charming country
home style setting with a sumptuous, spacious interior. The property
is surrounded by its own private, well maintained gardens, with a
large lawn edged by attractive borders and a pretty patio. These make
the perfect backdrop for a pre-dinner drink on a warm summer's
evening, and are overlooked by the delightful conservatory dining
area.

The Rushmere
offers a relaxed ambience where customers can indulge themselves in
its intimate surroundings. In addition to the garden, there is a
large, comfortable bar area, ideal for a drink before moving through
to one of the two restaurant rooms. The bar is fully stocked with an
excellent selection of beers, wines and spirits.
The dining
areas have been carefully decorated and furnished to provide elegant
surroundings, and diners can enjoy the splendid menu that is put
together from the very best seasonal produce by The Rushmere's three
Chefs. Seafood is a house speciality with the locally-caught Selsey
crab and lobster featuring when available. There is also a superb A La
Carte Menu with Vegetarian dishes, all prepared with equal care and
attention to detail. The wide ranging menu is supplemented by daily
blackboard specials, and you are sure to be spoilt for choice. A fine
wine list complements any meal, and the wine waiter is on hand to
suggest a suitable accompaniment to your meal selection.
The Rushmere
also has a function room leading from the main restaurants and overall
is able to cater for
weddings and parties for up to 100 guests. There are feature
evenings with dinner dances, cabaret evenings and 60's and 70's
revival nights. The combination of old world charm with a warm
welcome, makes The Rushmere an experience to be savoured. It is always
advisable to book to avoid disappointment.
Our cuisine is
the finest in West Sussex, served in superb surroundings all at very
affordable prices.
We pride
ourselves on our extensive fish menu which includes local catches and
famous Selsey crab and Lobsters.
We cater for
Weddings and Large Parties too, with Menus of your choice.
Superb value Sunday Lunch Carvery Let Chef serve you with the
Roasts of The Day and help yourself to delicious fresh vegetables and
Yorkshire puddings to make a traditional Sunday Lunch not to be
